Divine Inspiration

Have you ever been stuck in a car that was out of gas, broken down, on the side of the road in a ugly and desolate place – with the air conditioning busted and the blistering sun beating down upon you?  Where you’re so miserable you want to scream and shout!

You’ve got a AAA Membership all paid of, assistance is immediately available with one call and your mobile phone is there right in front of you, but you don’t call AAA.  Instead, you curse everything around you that you don’t like and can’t stand.  You call friends and complain about this terrible situation you’re in.

All you need is a willingness to get the gas to take you where you want to. Instead you walk down the street to the mini-mart and buy a pack of cigarettes, a six pack of beer and some chips, a couple of candy bars and you walk back to your car. You continue to call people who will listen to your story of desperation and hopelessness until you’re almost out of cell charge. You pass out in the heat and sleep until morning.

Upon waking you hear a voice that says: “Call AAA NOW and ask them to bring gas before another day goes by. They will come if you call.” You call and they come with gas. And now you have to decide where you want to go. Are you going to go back and complain about where you’ve been or are you interested in going someplace new?

Prayer is like the gas in your car. Prayer is a profoundly effective means of shifting our attention from what we don’t want to what we deeply desire. It is the fuel for Divine transportation. Wherever you want to go, prayer will take you there. Pray now. Pray often. Pray always.

Affirmation

I have a passion for where I’m going and I’m going there with God.
