In my Stop Playing Small class – as well as in Finding Freedom and Masterful Living – I consistantly remind everyone how UNmasterful it is to live coping with fear and managing the fear and trying to control the circumstances that we think create the fear. A Course In Miracles tells us that “You’re never upset for the reason you think you are.” This is so true! It’s deeply helpful to realize it’s a fact!!
You can really help yourself if any and every time you are feeling up set that you remind yourself, “I’m never upset for the reason I think I am.” This helps prevent us from investing our precious life in trying to manipulate and control the circumstances.
In order to live this deep practice you must be willing to let go of the worried and fearful mind. This takes attention. I’ve worked at it and I’ve been amazed at how I’ve been able to learn to live in peace and stay there. I still sometimes have momentary frustrations or annoyances, but I value my peace of mind far too much to fan those flames, instead I poor cool water on them and watch them fizzle.
Be clear about what you want!! What do you want more than peace? Are you willing to have that instead of peace? If so, then perhaps you do not know the value of peace – be willing to get Clear Direction from the Divine and you’ll be so grateful you’ll literally cry tears of joy. Peace has come!
