Abundance is yours!

Daily people ask me how they can achieve their goals of fearless living and opening their heart to love and be loved while achieving fulfilling relationship and career.  I ask if they’re willing to commit their time and energy to their spiritual practice starting right now.  Most often they’re not.

Most folks are willing to get in their car and drive to church service, but not to sit in a chair and be in the church of their own being.  They’re willing to call someone to pray for them, but not to speak their own word.  “Someday”, hopefully, when there’s more time (as if time might become more abundant) they’ll be able to.  I’ve been there and done that too.  One of the things that drove me to make a commitment was that I realized that what I do and think makes a difference in the world.  I came to see this is what Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke to in his Letter From The Birmingham Jail.  He told us, “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.  Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.”

When I first made a commitment to my practice of living a compassionate and nonviolent life I could feel the depth of the love that was calling me, but I had no mental or emotional idea that all that the promises of all my spiritual teachers would be even MORE fulfilling than I had imagined.

When I first began, even the most basic spiritual practice was a struggle and a burden to me.   Ask anyone who has known me a long time, if I could arrive at the space of loving that I’ve come to from the place of intense anger and judgment that I started at, then I can safely assure you it is possible for you to blow your own hair back!

If you INTEND it, you can BE it – and you must BE it to SEE it.  The question always is “do I really intend it or am I just saying that? Has the wanting it become the thing that I’m doing?  Wanting isn’t having.  Am I willing to believe it’s possible and move out of wanting and into having?  Am I willing to act in faith? Am I willing to choose from a place of being centered in Oneness and mutuality?

An hour a day for one year brought profound changes in me and in the world I see, the way I respond and correspond to the web of mutuality that is the Oneness of all life.  One hour invested in my practice.  One hour dedicated to sitting with the knower who knows, with strong intention, regularly yields more than I could EVER imagine.  Now, my practice is every moment of every day – no part of my life is outside of my practice.  No separation at all!

Through my practice I show that I am fully committed to Life and through my practice I can perceive that Life is fully Committed to me.  I had no idea until I did it how profound the difference could be.  Try it, you might like it!   Seek first the Kingdom, which is within, and all else will be added unto you.  Never look outside yourself for your abundance!
