This past week on my Walking the Talk Radio show – I interviewed author Ken Wapnick. What a great experience that was! He’s such an inspiration to me. One of the things we talked about is how we handle the ego thoughts when they come up. I told him that I say to myself “I’m not interested in that anymore.” In fact, I have a whole healing process that I do to heal those ego thoughts and temptations and it has been miraculously healing for me – if you listen to this weeks Living A Course in Miracles Homework Class I go into it in detail. I encourage you to listen and take notes because what I share has profoundly changed my life.

Some days I’ve had to say “I’m not interested in that anymore” 100 times a day – at least! And yet the good news is, finally, eventually, I would get to the place where I really WAS done with it. Totally done. It was then that I could let the thought leave my mind and be free of it. Phew!

Ken Wapnick shared with me that he quotes Shakespeare’s King Lear – “That way madness lies.” Which reminded me that I also will say “Get thee behind me.” Having these simple statements to use to change the habits of the mind is so valuable. It has made a world of difference to me – and because of that, I’m able to share my gifts and talents with the world in ways that are profoundly fulfilling – I can do this instead of going around in circles trying to figure out how to make things happen.

I am fan of Shakespeare – I was a theatre major at Emerson College in Boston and I worked at the New York Shakespeare Festival for quite a few years. I thought it would fun to look up the passage in Shakespeare that Ken was quoting. It’s really gorgeous and I thought you would enjoy it too!

Thou think’st ’tis much that this contentious storm
Invades us to the skin: so ’tis to thee;
But where the greater malady is fix’d,
The lesser is scarce felt. Thou’ldst shun a bear;
But if thy flight lay toward the raging sea,
Thou’ldst meet the bear i’ the mouth. When the
mind’s free,
The body’s delicate: the tempest in my mind
Doth from my senses take all feeling else
Save what beats there. Filial ingratitude!
Is it not as this mouth should tear this hand
For lifting food to’t? But I will punish home:
No, I will weep no more. In such a night
To shut me out! Pour on; I will endure.
In such a night as this! O Regan, Goneril!
Your old kind father, whose frank heart gave all,–
O, that way madness lies; let me shun that;
No more of that.

I am in the perfect flow of God’s goodness all of the time. I accept my good and celebrate it, sharing the benefits with all because I am One with them!
