The Kingdom of Heaven is within. If you’re looking to find it somewhere outside of your own heart, then you will never, ever even catch a glimpse. Many people are still seeking outside of themselves, thinking that what they deeply want, need and desire is somewhere in the world. If they look long and hard enough they might find it. If they work hard enough they will be able to manifest it or attract it. If they are lucky, someone will give it to them. All of that seeking is illusion. The Kingdom is within, to look elsewhere is to go on a fool’s errand. Deep down, we all know this. That’s why so many despair. They are afraid to look within.

Why would someone be afraid to look for the Kingdom in the one and only place it can be found? Well, if you’re thinking of yourself as not good enough, if you’re thinking that inside of you is something ugly and unworthy. If you feel you are filled to the brim with guilt, blame and shame – then you probably won’t feel excited about looking within. Instead you will fear what you might find. Better not to look within and simply continue to seek in vain. The suffering of not finding is less than the suffering of discovering just how ugly your own heart is. This is the thought that keeps so many from discovering the amazing riches of the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is pre-installed and fully equipped. You must have courage to look within. And you must have true humility. It takes true humility to be willing to venture, going forth in faith, to discover that the Kingdom is within your own heart. If you do not love yourself, or if you have the false-love of the ego, then you will not be willing to look within. Humility is required. You must be willing to realize that you are no better than and no less than anyone else. Just as there is not one facet of the diamond that is more worthy than another, all are worthy. All are lovable. If you judge yourself as better than or less than you will never feel worthy of your true identity and you will continue to seek outside yourself in vain. On the road to the Kingdom you will have an infinite number of opportunities to develop true humility. You can do this through the sweet practice of prayer and contemplation or you can go through the pain and suffering of humiliation. It’s up to you. Will you cling to your opinion or will you simply be willing to accept that all are worthy. You are worthy of your Divinity. Seek the Kingdom, which is within, and all else will be added unto you.
