Yesterday in our Living A Course in Miracles class, Rhonda Britten gave us such clear insight in how to transform the habits of fear into the habits of love.
One of the techniques she gave us was to be gentle with ourselves. She pointed out that being gentle can seem crazy, or pointless or ridiculous – none the less, it’s deeply healing. I know this to be true, because I discovered the very same thing for myself.
I learned to call myself “Darling” and “Sweetheart” when I was turning my mind from thoughts of lack and limitation, separation and judgment.
I learned to speak to myself with kindness and compassion.
I learned to speak to myself as I would speak to someone I loved.
Through this simple practice of gentleness I learned to BE loving.
When we start from a place of deep fear and intense shame and unworthiness, healing can seem impossible, but it’s not. Healing is a living happening thing that is never impossible as long as you are willing.
Your willingness heals the world.
Affirmation:
I AM willing to be gentle with myself.
