Your Little Willingness

Maxwell is the member of our family who has the most willingness. He’s so willing all of the time. He’s especially willing to go for a walk, or a ride in the car, to have a meal, to keep me company, and to think deep thoughts. He loves to meditate. He’s a model citizen in so many ways.

A Course in Miracles tells us that our LITTLE willingness is all that’s required. At least that’s what it says in the beginning. As we go further along, ACIM tells us that we must have ABUNDANT willingness. Then, of course, it lets us know we must have TOTAL willingness to align with divine will.

Sometimes it feels like trickery – or bait and switch.

The truth is that the little willingness really is that tiny little mustard seed that can grow into a big enough plant that it crack through concretized ego thought system that we’ve given ourselves over to.

It’s about cultivating a little bit of willingness to be more compassionate, kind and generous in our thinking.

The more we cultivate that little willingness, the more we realize that it’s our Unwillingness that creates our suffering. Think of that, your un-willingness creates a sense of suffering. It takes you out of the flow of good. And you can change your mind in a moment!

That’s the beauty of having a four legged companion like Maxwell. He helps us to remember how to be more willing. Thank you, Max!

I AM willing to be more willing today!
