I saw this sign posted on a tree at Kalani Retreat Center and I had to snap a picture to share with you.

So many people tell me they’re challenged by meditation. They tell me they can’t quiet their mind and so they give up and feel like a failure – they even feel that there’s something wrong with them. Some folks fall asleep and feel a failure for that. The ego will give us any excuse to give up and name ourselves BAD and WRONG – believe me I know all about excuses.

This meditation challenge is something I’ve had a lot of experience with. It’s so easy to judge and judge and judge ourselves – none of which is remotely helpful!! That’s why this week in the Living A Course in Miracles series I was suggesting that folks begin to treat themselves like someone they dearly love and cherish.

When you cherish yourself you’ll no longer be mean and critical with yourself. Instead you can learn to be helpful and supportive. You can learn to be encouraging with yourself instead of riding yourself hard.

Let us refuse to give up! Let us not judge the quality of our meditation and instead continue to PARTNER UP! In this partnership is our healing and our awakening. Spirit can not fail us, let us keep going.

I keep before me at all times this simple truth:
Those that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be fed.

I will not be satisfied by that which can never truly satisfy. I keep going. What I’ve noticed is that my meditation continues to improve and the time with Spirit is ALWAYS restorative if that is my aspiration. I set the aspiration and let Spirit do the heavy lifting.

Spirit cannot fail.

Affirmation:

I AM willing to succeed in Spirit!
