American author Elbert Hubbard said, “Initiative is doing the right things without being told.”
How many times in my life, in each and every day, has the opportunity to do the right thing been immediately in front of me and yet I hesitated even though my whole being knew that the moment to take initiative was upon me?
There are so many clear and obvious moments to make a better way that require only your initiative. Each time you choose one, even if you hesitate before taking initiative, you are choosing your own empowerment. The more that taking initiative becomes your way of living the more empowered you are. To feel in tune with what is true and right feels like running down hill to greet the nature of joy itself!
Where would we be if those who went before us had not had initiative? I continue to be grateful and amazed by the initiative of people like Harriet Tubman, Thomas Alva Edison, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Teresa, Gandhi and so many others.
Today you can find an opportunity to be more loving and take the initiative to act upon it. By taking the initiative you follow through on your intention to live a loving life. Everyday we can make choices that move the world in a direction of peace. We say YES! to that!
Affirmation:
I AM moved by Love. Love is my initiative!
