My power is my life force, my soul energy, it is my ability to choose Love and be loving. Sometimes I use it well, sometimes I abuse it and sometimes I give it away. Personal power management is one of the most important lessons I am learning in this life and yet where was that class in school? Who among us has received the instruction book on how to manage our personal power? Mostly I’ve learned by trial and error.
I give my power away whenever I am not present in the moment. I give my power away when I fantasize about the future or the past. I deny my power when I don’t acknowledge my feelings and when I live in a victim consciousness. I abuse my power when I let my feelings run my life.
Caroline Myss, Ph.D. has diagnosed many a person’s illness as being related to their mismanagement of their personal power. In ANATOMY OF THE SPIRIT she writes, “Spiritual instruction teaches us to keep our focus on ourselves–not in an egocentric way but as a way of consciously managing our energy and power. So, your task is to learn WHAT rather than WHO draws power from you.”
Today I set the intention to become masterful at managing my personal power to be loving and choose Love. Knowing that the only power there is comes from aligning with my Higher Holy Self and choosing from love, I make a list of five habits that are driven by the ego and offer those to my higher self for healing. I put my intention to be masterful in action. In doing this I strengthen myself and anchor my personal practice of nonviolence. I move the whole world in the direction of love through my personal practice of self-mastery.
