I always loved the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. The other day it struck me that their great song, “Love the one you’re with” applies to everyone. It isn’t sexual, it’s spiritual!
Loving the one you’re with also applies to whomever you’re with in terms of whom you’re thinking about since our experience is really in the mind, even if it seems like we’re bodies. We’re really pure Spirit having a human experience.
In my experience, loving the one I’m with has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever learned to do. I’m so grateful it doesn’t feel that way anymore. It was worth every gut wrenching, mind boggling, supercalifragilistic melt down I went through in order to finally come spitting out the other end of this ego transformation.
If you’re challenged to Love the one you’re with, give the heavy lifting to the Higher Holy Spirit Self and simply be wiling to give up all judgments and choose kindness in the moment. If it’s really, really tough to be kind, then take a time-out and just breathe. I’ve been there and I’ve had to do that. There’s no shame in that. Choosing Love when it feels bone crushingly challenging is SO worth it. It’s so powerful that it defies description. It’s life changing. I know this for a fact.
