People often ask me this question:
Can a spiritual student have a great romantic relationship with someone who’s not interested in spirituality?
The answer is – absolutely yes!!
I have several friends who are in marriages that are 20+ years and they are a spiritual student, but their spouse is not. They have GREAT relationships.
The key to any great relationship – friends, lovers, spouses, co-workers, relatives or neighbors is to do unto others as you would have done to you – because it WILL be done to you in one way or another.
What goes around, comes around, with increased measure!
Love thy neighbor as thyself because you ARE your neighbor – that’s what ONENESS means!
It’s SO easy to forget that we’re one and to move into judgment if you’re not dedicated to being loving.
My happily married friends are truly, deeply respectful of their spouses. They are dedicated to releasing any and all judgment that might arise about heir spouse or ANYONE in their life.
If your spouse worships in the church of the NBA or the NFL (those are sports organizations for those who are not in the U.S.), you can be completely supportive and respectful of that.
My friends are profoundly supported by their spouses. They are mutually honoring and supportive because they Love each other and that’s what Love is. You have to BE it to SEE it!
