I’ve known so many people over the years who have had such a strong desire to earn a living sharing their passion for spirituality and some of them have actually followed their heart and done what they felt called to do, but many have not.  They’re playing small and they know it.  It hurts.

When I first started in Ministerial School, in our very first gathering, a weekend retreat, we were told that the majority of the people who were in our program would probably never follow through and have a profession as a minister.

It made sense to me.  Feelings of unworthiness stop so many people, it’s crazy!

It is true insanity for any of us to believe that we’re unworthy of following our calling.

Honestly, it doesn’t actually make sense.

Think about it.  As an example, let’s imagine that you have the talent and the ability to be an amazing dancer.  What if you felt unworthy of dancing so you just never did any dancing.  Or you only danced by yourself and never with other people.  You see what I mean?

We are already imbued with everything we need to live our calling, whatever it is.

Every profession can be a spiritual profession if we look at it correctly.

Yesterday I got a flat tire.  It was a bit of an ordeal, because I was out in the boondocks of Vermont, where cell reception is pretty iffy.  Eventually, I got together with the service guy,Marcus, from AAA, (automobile association) to put my spare tire on.  He did a great job, and he was my hero.

My experience wasn’t a powerful spiritual experience, but Marcus was great, and he was kind and helpful.  If he were a spiral student, he could have brought that to our connection and if I were feeling upset or challenged, it could have been a real help to me.

In other words, any profession can be a spiritual one if we approach it that way.  Let’s not separate Spirit from any part of our life – there’s no need.  Everything goes better with Spirit.

Let’s make a quantum leap together.  If you’d like my help developing a spiritual practice of Self-care that clears out the old patterns of past beliefs in order to move out of the unconscious guilt and punishing yourself, blaming others, living like a victim or a martyr, feeling guilty and ashamed, and into feeling more connected with Spirit, please check out my Finding Freedom From Fear Spiritual Bootcamp class – it’s designed to be a rocket booster for your spiritual journey.

If you feel you’ve been holding yourself back and letting fear decide, this might be your answered prayer!
