Divine Experiment Backstory:
The Divine Experiment is one of my favorite tools from the Masterful Living workbooks because it is simple and powerfully effective. It is a great opportunity to develop consistency, commitment, and trust in our spiritual practice.
When things with the Covid-19 pandemic seemed to get very real, it occurred to me how powerful it might be to do a collective Divine Experiment with members of the Power of Love Community. It came in like a flash of inspiration, but I pushed it to the side thinking, “that’s a nice idea, someone ought to suggest that”.
Since I was in the middle of another Divine Experiment, I thought that I had to see that through before starting another one.
Several days later I was doing my daily check-in with the Masterful Living Facebook community when the Divine insight came through strongly once more. This time, before I had a chance to change my mind about it, I quickly typed a message into the Facebook group and pressed “post”.
Within less than an hour, several members of the community responded. I had no clear plan for what this would look like. I have always been inspired by Jennifer and the fact that she doesn’t plan out all of the details of her radio shows or her classes, but rather tunes into SPIRIT beforehand, allows inspiration to flow, and trusts she will be guided throughout. I strive to do the same in life as much as possible and this was a great opportunity for me to practice trusting!
A Course in Miracles says, “A healed mind does not plan. It carries out the plans that it receives through listening to wisdom that is not its own. It waits until it has been taught what should be done, and then proceeds to do it” (W-pI.135.11:1-3).
With no real plan in place, things began to organically unfold. When members agreed that they wanted to participate, we established a time we would meet. We held our Zoom meeting – again, with no structure or plan, but with Trust that we were being Divinely led and guided toward the highest, best, and most healing conversation possible.
First, we said a prayer together. Then we had an open-hearted discussion answering the Divine Experiment questions in the Masterful Living workbook. We pieced together a prayer using the example prayer in the workbook, including contributions from each person present. We each committed to follow the Divine Experiment guidelines and repeat the prayer we wrote for 21 days holding that the highest and best is unfolding.
My intention in doing the collective Divine Experiment was to be truly helpful, to follow the guidance I was receiving, and to build faith and trust in my ability to hear guidance.
I am sharing our prayer here, as well as the link to listen to our Zoom meeting, in case any of you are interested in listening to the replay. Please join us in this collective Divine Experiment if you feel led to do so.
I am so grateful for this community.
Love to you all! Namaste~
