I recently had the honor of being interviewed for a podcast that shares home birth stories. I shared the story of the birth of my daughter, Justine, who arrived on November 16, 2018. I had no idea that I would have a home birth at the start of my pregnancy. Becoming pregnant was a miracle in itself. As I shared my story with the interviewers, the gold nugget that emerged was the way my vision lifted me out of limited thinking and catapulted me into a miraculous experience. I ended up birthing at the home of an internationally acclaimed midwife and author, Nancy Wainer. I birthed Justine naturally, in the company of wise, loving, trusting, powerful women. It was a modern version of the primal, sacred, birth I saw in my mind.
Creating a vision for what I would like is one of the many life-changing practices I have adopted in my years in Masterful Living. I love the guided visioning we do with Jennifer at the start of each year. The process affirms my power to co-create with Spirit and reminds me to focus on what I would like. So simple and yet, so profound. My mind can easily get stuck in future forecasts that I would not wish to experience. Even going as far as to create speeches for people I imagine will upset me in terrible ways. When I notice myself doing this, I guide myself back. Sometimes gently, and sometimes more directly; but, ultimately, unplugging my energy from any thoughts that do not align with my vision.
As a certified Spiritual Counselor in the Power of Love Ministry, I bring my awareness of visioning and the power of focus to those I counsel. I thoroughly enjoy and cherish the opportunity to hold a sacred space for others. I know the importance of releasing fear thoughts without any shame, judgment, or blame. There is freedom in shining a light on the scary monsters that lurk in the mind. And as soon as my client is willing, I guide them back to the command center (Mind) and ask them to energize, nurture, and feel their ideal vision of the situation. Just as I did when fears of finances, lack of support from my husband, and the fear that something could go wrong, came up for me around the birth of my daughter. It wasn’t a call to panic or suppress. It was an opportunity to pivot, realign, and move forward.
