Describe what you enjoy most about working for the Ministry. The collaborative effort for a certain project is a very wonderful experience. We work for hand and hand even if we are in a virtual world.
What was the most significant moment in your life?
When my father passed away and after a couple of months, I decided to live on my own and be independent. It was a pivotal moment in my life where it allowed me to have self-reflection and cultivated me to grow independently.
Who is the most influential person in your life? What is the biggest lesson you learned from this person?
My father, who passed away last year. It still pains me when I think of him, but I know he is now at peace. He taught me to be a dreamer. In these modern days, being a dreamer tends to be impractical. He pushed me to be what I am today and reminded me that I should always remember, I have within me the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
When you are not working for the Ministry what do you enjoy doing? What are some of your hobbies?
Before the pandemic, I have training sessions for aerial silk, pole dancing, and some yoga classes. I really was passionate about getting my body healthy and toned, also to increase my physical strength capacity.
Nowadays, I haven’t trained for a while, or even do self-exercise at home. I have a sort of monotonous life for now due to the overwhelming effect of the pandemic, when I’m not at work, I usually dwell on reading novels, reading manga (comics in Japan), watching movies or series, listening to my favorite Korean pop (K-pop) songs and playing a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). For now, I think I’m enjoying being a couch potato and having peace by myself.
What is a fun fact about you that might surprise the people reading this article?
Not everybody knows I seek adventure and adrenaline rush. When I was in secondary school, we had a family outing in Bohol, Philippines. We went to an outland adventure park where we had a vacation and they have amenities such as canyoneering and zipline. The famous of them all was one of the highest canyon swing/ bungee jumping off the cliff. Jumping off the cliff was an exhilarating and amazing experience for me.
It was also historically inclined to us Filipinos due to a Filipino revolutionary who holds the distinction of having initiated the longest revolt in Philippine history, Francisco Dagohoy. He jumped off the cliff during that revolution as an escape from the colonial government. My last adventure was in Dahilayan Adventure Park, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, it is the first free fall single sky swing. It was exhilarating because I was the one who pulled the rope that triggers me to fall from the top.
