So, I have been thinking about this question for some time. How to write about \u201clove at first sight\u201d\u2026.the topic of movies, poems, literature, myths, and mirth! So\u2026answers come quickly to awareness like \u201cI don\u2019t believe in love at first sight!\u201d \u201cHow could anyone know it was love\u2026or maybe it is lust at first sight..or maybe that \u201cbeloved\u201d meets a psychological need (asking the psychologist in me to \u201cstep back\u201d) or\u2026\u2026.so the quest goes on\u2026.and nothing is written!<\/p>\n

So\u2026.take a different path\u2026.go quiet, silent, make a space\u2026.and Spirit tells me to use the A Course in Miracles<\/em> for inspiration\u2026.so the researcher\/finder in me discovers three ACIM<\/em> lessons that may light the way.<\/p>\n

Lesson 68:<\/strong> Love holds no Grievances
\nLesson 127:<\/strong> There Is No Love but God\u2019s
\nLesson 189:<\/strong> I feel the love of God within me now.<\/p>\n

So spirit guides me to Lesson 189 and \u201cpoof\u201d reading the first paragraph, the answer is there:<\/p>\n

\u201cTo feel the Love of God within you is to see the world anew, shining in innocence, alive with hope, and blessed with perfect charity and love.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There it is\u2026.I do believe in love at first sight\u2026.and the first sight is the sight of God\u2019s love for me\u2026.the light that dwells within and is yearning to be free of the blocks to love that I have built around it. The blocks of fear, shame, guilt, inadequacy, rejection, scarcity \u2026..like many large, rough stones that can be removed and released to let the light of love shine out.<\/p>\n

So the inspired knowledge is that \u201cfirst love\u201d is when I (true self) sees the light and love that resides within.<\/p>\n

I BELIEVE IN THAT!<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, when has this happened for me? When have I allowed the blocks to fall away and experience \u201clove at first sight\u201d?<\/p>\n

Here are some memories I have of those experiences that I would call Holy Moments!<\/p>\n

\"\"A small, young boy at Church Camp (Camp Crestview) being frightened at being alone at camp without his Mom\u2026going with<\/p>\n

the counselor and group to the \u201chome in the woods\u201d\u2026and suddenly surrounded by the beautiful forest\u2026.and feeling excitement, peace, and the knowledge that the light in me has joined the light in the forest.<\/p>\n

A larger but still young boy sitting in a pew at the Freedom Presbyterian Church listening to the organist play old hymns and the congregation (and me) sing along. Favorite\u2026.\u201cThis is My Father\u2019s World,\u201d \u201cIn the moving grass I hear Him pass,\u201d and God speaks to me everywhere\u201d.<\/p>\n

A boy holding his dog Mandy\u2026.being one with that sweet, soft animal\u2026walking to the top of the hill and sitting on a log and knowing that I love Mandy and Mandy loves me \u201cno matter what\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"A teenager standing in the dark in the front yard of his home on 9th Street Extension looking up at the stars and moon and knowing the girl he would marry is looking at the same stars and moon..And the light in me saw the light in her as she looked at the stars and moon in South Bend, Indiana.<\/p>\n

A young father (x3) looking into the eyes of his wife and observing the birth of each beautiful baby\u2026knowing in the deepest way that there is love enough for everyone. This Holy Moment revisited with the birth of each of the grandchildren.<\/p>\n

A young man sitting by the fire at The Ranch, beating the drum for the heart of the tribe\u2026waiting for the sweat lodge\u2026feeling Great Spirit\u2026all around and through us.<\/p>\n

\"\"An older man, on three occasions (and probably more), listening to music (Indigo Girls, Michael Jackson and Hamilton) and feeling the oneness with all the pilgrims on the Camino.<\/p>\n

As an old man, sitting on the couch with the love of my life, watching old romantic movies and feeling the love radiating from us\u2026.to us\u2026\u2026to Anna and to all our brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n

So yes, I deeply believe in love at first sight.<\/p>\n
