{"id":2616,"date":"2020-02-18T05:43:45","date_gmt":"2020-02-18T05:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/powerofloveministry.net\/news\/?p=2616"},"modified":"2020-06-02T14:17:12","modified_gmt":"2020-06-02T14:17:12","slug":"counselors-corner-kathryn-hariston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/powerofloveministry.net\/news\/blog\/2020\/02\/counselors-corner-kathryn-hariston\/","title":{"rendered":"Counselor\u2019s Corner: Kathryn Hariston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I believe as Ram Dass said: \u201c<em>We are all just walking each other home.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Through Truth teachings from many spiritual guides and teachers, especially <em>A Course in Miracles<\/em> and 12 Steps, I have recognized my purpose is to be \u201ctruly helpful \u201c, and to see the joy and peace and freedom in this life now.<\/p>\n<p><em>ACIM<\/em> teaches that heaven is not a place, it is a state of mind, it is here and now, and we can choose that state at any moment. I used to believe what was taught in the religion of my childhood, that you had to die to attain heaven, and that with tremendous sacrifice and suffering I would hopefully be \u201cworthy\u201d enough to go to that place. I can honestly say that having let go of those beliefs from the past that taught through guilt, shame and fear, it has been possible for me to experience heaven on earth as I live in the present.<\/p>\n<p>The deep desire of my heart is to experience peace, joy, freedom and prosperity at the highest levels, along with all my brothers and sisters, on the journey to the home we never truly left.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back over the years and the stories I have told myself about the world, about myself and about others, I have come to see that I truly don\u2019t know what anything is for. Except that now I know that Love is my guide. And this has changed my perception of what I judged to be \u201cbad\u201d or \u201cpainful\u201d or \u201csad\u201d. Instead those situations have turned out to be my best teachers. I understand that I don\u2019t have to learn from pain and suffering any more. I can grow in peace and freedom by choosing with love and remaining grateful for the miracles and gifts I receive.<\/p>\n<p>I have so much gratitude for the opportunity through the <strong><em>Power of Love Ministry<\/em><\/strong> and Jennifer Hadley\u2019s <strong>Spiritual Counseling training program<\/strong>, to be able to offer my services as a certified counselor to anyone who feels led to contact me for a session.
