Years ago, if someone would\u2019ve told me that I didn\u2019t have to be \u201cperfect\u201d and that accepting and allowing myself to be exactly as I was, was the key to living the life I desired, I would\u2019ve laughed in their face. I\u2019ve spent over 30 years in the wellness field, and that simple truth alluded me until just recently. Could I love and care for others? Yes. It was me I was forgetting about. Beneath the surface, I was angry, feared change, loved to be right, compared myself to my friends and family, hated myself, and lived paycheck-to-paycheck. Those were my \u201cdirty little secrets\u201d. Sound familiar?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The only time I felt connected to something other than my own judgmental mind was when I was giving a Tarot Card reading or a massage. While I was giving sessions, I felt connected to a field of unconditional love. I felt free. Early in my career, I remember thinking, \u201cif only I could live from this place<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n In 2015, I found and began working with Jennifer Hadley. When I took the Spiritual Counseling Certification program<\/strong>, those sessions gave me that same feeling of connection as when I was giving a reading. It felt like I had come home. As I began using the tools Jennifer shared and receiving Spiritual Counseling from my classmates, my life began to change. I began getting glimpses, and at times, experienced living from that place I had envisioned years before.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I started listening to myself as lovingly as I listened to others. I began to see how unloving I was being towards myself. My relationships with my family, friends, and abundance have done a 180. I wake up each day and get to do what I love to do as a career, and I am well on the road to loving myself. I enjoy working with people interested in learning to love themselves. I enjoy supporting others in developing and learning to trust their intuition and living from that space. It is my joy to support people in learning to listen to Spirit and moving from their heads into their hearts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Do I occasionally stumble? Of course. And each time I do I use my tools. If I get stuck, I reach out to my fellow Spiritual Counselors for a session. This is my ongoing conversation with Spirit: \u201cSpirit, I will show up and love whoever you put in front of me. You take care of the details.<\/em><\/strong>\u201d As a result, I have been blessed with connecting with amazing people. Believe me when I say that if I can transform my life, anyone can.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The next chapter in loving myself involves allowing and accepting my body exactly the way that it is. I was always \u201cthe fat girl from the trailer park.\u201d Most of my school years were spent getting picked on for my size. In my senior year, I got down to my \u201cdream weight\u201d and still looked in the mirror and saw big fat Lorri. Comparing my body to what was considered \u201cideal\u201d became the norm. I have lost and gained and lost and gained and lost and gained my weight for years. I have been ashamed of and hated my body for as long as I can remember. 2020 is my year to STOP THE MADNESS!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n This year, I am doubling down and \u201cloving my body free.\u201d My intention is to support others in learning to celebrate the miraculous vehicle they have been given that houses their Divine Essence.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Stay tuned\u2026 because, starting in May, Kristine Shaw and I<\/strong> will be co-facilitating a Masterful Support Group called Loving Our Bodies Free<\/strong>.
