I woke up yesterday morning with the thought of doing a zoom get together on Christmas Day.  The idea had come into my mind a few days before, and there it was again.

If it were to happen, I’d have to do something about it.  So, I began to think about what time it would be best to have it.

I started to think about the people in Australia and the people in Europe and the people on the west coast, and then the things that would be happening in my family on Christmas Day.  It was a lot to try and consider in order map out the best time.  

I quickly knew there had to be a better way.

I gave it up to Spirit – and I asked “what time is best.”  I paused and waited, and began to think of other things and then there it was:

4 o’clock.

And that was decided.

That’s from the prayer I call the “My Purpose” prayer from A Course in Miracles. This is how we’re choosing to live our lives.

I have discovered Peace through learning to live this simple teaching:

I am here only to be truly helpful.

I am here to represent Him Who sent me.

I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do,

because He Who sent me will direct me.

I am content to be wherever He wishes,

knowing He goes there with me.

I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.

Through choosing to trust, I have proved that I don’t have to wonder worry what to say, where to go or what to do because Spirit will direct and guide me.

It’s challenging to believe that the life we’d really like to live can come from living this way, but it does.  I see it over and over again with people in our classes.

I recognize that it’s challenging to believe that actually doing the work will bring the results that we’d like.  That’s not the teaching of the world.  

The teaching of the world is opposite to the teaching of Spirit.

The world teaches us to look outside for the kingdom and Spirit tells us to look within.

It’s Christmas Eve.  Let’s practice for this day and see what it brings!
