When I first began to study A Course in Miracles I noticed that many people I encountered who had been studying the Course for years weren’t actually LIVING it.

They were studying, without embodying and truly embracing with their heart.

I recognized this as a phenomena in spiritual communities.  I had certainly done the same thing – studying principles without fully living them.  

Doing that for years leads people to feel like a fake.  What happens is that their spiritual studies actually lead them to feeling worse about themselves because they can’t admit they feel like a fake.

Some of those folks become righteous about how much they know and have studied.

I used to meet a lot of those folks too.  

Spiritual awakening really isn’t about learning spiritual principle and truth teachings.

Awakening is about remembering.  

Think of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.  At the end of her time in Oz, she’s remembering that she had the power all along.  And then when she wakes up in her bed, safe at home, surrounded by loved ones, she remembers what’s really important:  Love and loving relationships.

When we choose a path of awakening we move away from learning and into remembering and that’s what happens when choose to truly live the miracle.
