Do you prefer information or insight?
One thing I know about the ego is that it’s a thought system that values information and thinks collecting more information is a good use of our life-force. More data might be helpful to someone who’s doing a research project, but spiritual growth has nothing to do with research.
Many spiritual students, myself included, can get hung up on collecting information. I’ve learned the hard way that information isn’t healing. Love is healing and only Love is healing. I’ve allowed myself to be so distracted by collecting information that, in the end, was completely useless to me.
It’s important to know what the motivation is – is the motivation to end your suffering? To feel better? To gain something? I’ve learned that * none of those things can actually be accomplished by gathering information.
There’s no amount of information that has ever been healing to me.
The ego is constantly in search of data to prove someone wrong or right and that is a completely useless pursuit. Whereas Spirit already knows everything. OUR Spirit already knows everything. That knowing is our access to True Wisdom. Accessing Divine Wisdom clears the clutter of our mind. Accessing Divine Wisdom is healing – and it’s always available to us!
Here’s the three step process that changes our life: Ask, Listen, Follow.
Ask for guidance.
“Listen” (or sense) the guidance.
Follow the guidance.
All the energy that I used to put into collecting spiritual information, I now invest in “ask, listen, follow” to support my becoming more awake, aware, patient and kind.
This is what brings me benefit AND Joy!
Do you find yourself searching for information even when you don’t need it? Do you have stacks of books that you never bothered to read and that you feel if you did someday read them they would somehow help you be more spiritual?
This is the insane logic of the ego mindset.
I used to collect books and information, but not anymore – I’ve realized it just doesn’t serve me. It actually weighs me down. Lots of information can be like clutter in the mind. I’m interested in clearing my mind and by focusing on Love I’m able to do that! Phew!
When the ego is driving your spiritual practice it seems like information is helpful, that’s when it’s MOST helpful to put Spirit in charge!
Right now, I’ve got two speed-healing programs with early-bird specials happening – and both are helpful support for relationships.
Stop Playing Small Online Retreat
Finding Freedom From Fear Spiritual Bootcamp
If you’re interested in signing up for both of them, we have a combo special where you can get an even bigger savings right now. Don’t wait though, this special doesn’t last much longer – and of course, we always have payment plans.
For the last 10 years or so I’ve been offering my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat. During the pandemic I started offering it online and it’s been a wonderful success. I like it when we can gather together and do a lot of deep healing in a short period of time. I call it speed-healing. I’m interested in letting go of all resistance and all belief in littleness. It works, that’s why I’ve been doing it for 10 years.
My Finding Freedom From Fear Spiritual Bootcamp is a program I’ve been offering for 17 years – I keep offering it because it’s SO effective. And right now, you can get the early-bird.
LATEST PODCAST EPISODE: my podcast’s topic is Are We Avoiding Healing? Each of us is avoiding healing in a number of ways, but some of those ways may not be obvious. When we can get more clarity and see the avoidance for what it is, we can shift and change, we can go the other way and the healing comes pouring through. In this episode, I offer simple ways that I shifted my perspective to activate healing opportunities every day – and that made all the difference. Every day is a day of healing and transformation when we’re willing!
