Happy Mother’s Day! I’m in Georgia with a lot of family that haven’t seen each other in many years. We’re enjoying each other and celebrating our cousin Penny’s wedding. This morning I’m contemplating dedication and devotion and why it is that I have such a passion for this spiritual path and the work I’ve found with this ministry.
A Course in Miracles tells us that “all are called.” I know it’s true. And not everyone answers their call. Yet it’s valuable to understand that we all CAN answer the call in our unique way.
We all have a call to serve the Light through being loving.
The path of Love is the way, the truth and the life.
My profession as a teacher is to share what I’ve learned in a way that can be helpful to others. My profession, as a minister is to teach and also to comfort, to encourage and to support others as they are going through the storms and changes of life.
It is a sacred honor to minister and it has taught me a great compassion and willingness. I came to ministry, because I wished to acquire these abilities, not because I already had them.
What we were discussing in class this week is that we can each serve the Light where we are. It doesn’t matter what we’re doing or where we’re living. There’s no question that we’ve been perfectly placed where we are. We must start where we are and then move from there. Let us have faith in the divine order of where we have landed in the moment.
My dedication comes from seeing the results of my choices.
While, I no longer remember well how low I used to feel, I remember that I used to feel it.
I don’t remember what it felt like to be so afraid, because I was convinced of my false beliefs, but I remember that I felt it.
I am reminded every time that I sit with someone who is struggling with fear, worry, anger, hurt and all the emotions I was so challenged by.
I am so grateful that my life has changed.
I am so grateful that I have replaced fear with faith.
I am so grateful for finding freedom in my own heart and mind.
I am grateful for the call and that I finally answered.
My gratitude compels me to keep going and to share.
One of the great ways I share is simply by demonstrating my willingness to be loving each and every day whether anyone else is watching or not. Every day I could do better, and today I will. Every day is part of an upward trajectory.
Regardless of how others treat me, I can be loving.
Regardless of others worry and fear, I can be faithful.
I can have dominion over my thoughts.
I can cultivate my spiritual sovereignty.
I can follow my guidance even if every other person on the planet thinks I’m nuts.
I am grateful that we all have this call and that we can all answer and serve the Light right where we are. It’s a perfect system!
