Here’s what made the biggest difference for me. I began to realize that if I followed the guidance I was getting, my life would be a lot better.

Many times I received guidance in some form, and I’d wonder, “Is that guidance? Is that the ego? Is that Spirit? I don’t know.”

Some guidance seemed crazy to me. My mind would say, “That’s insane! It doesn’t make any sense at all.” So I learned to ask a simple question: why not do it anyway?

I’d do it anyway, and things would go really well. That taught me something. Guidance can be unexpected and still be good.

It may seem like total insanity, but when I follow it anyway, good things come.

I need to be clear about one thing. That isn’t true if we’re listening to the ego. That’s why it’s so helpful to learn the difference between the ego and the Spirit.  There’s a very real difference and we can learn to recognize it easily.

My friend and fellow teacher Regina Dawn-Akers shared a story I’ll never forget. She was doing very well in her corporate job, which paid really well. She’s successful and sharp. Then she received guidance to quit her job and move.

It terrified her. It took her a year to follow through, and a year isn’t that long.

During that year, she told me, she would be so scared that she’d take to her bed and crawl under the covers in a fetal position. On my podcast, I asked her how many times that year she was so frightened she crawled under the covers. She said, “About twenty.” That’s roughly every couple of weeks.

What Regina did was keep increasing her willingness, little by little. Finally, she was willing to quit her job and move. It just took her a while to actually do it, because she was so terrified.  And, of course, it was the best thing for her and her daughter.  Her whole life opened up!

If you’re terrified of your guidance, you’re in good company. You don’t have to leap all at once. You can take the next small step and let your willingness grow little by little.

If you’d like to practice this with others, I’d love for you to join us in my October Deep Dive Workshop: Trust & Follow Your Intuition, where we’ll explore trusting the guidance we’re already receiving.

If you’d like support with clearing out the mind’s ego attachments that block clear insight, I invite you to join my FREE Forgiveness Workshop tomorrow, SUNDAY at powerofloveministry.net/forgive.

The more we dive into these practices and tools, the more peaceful our mind is and the better decisions we make – and that saves a LOT of time, energy and money.  It’s just good sense.

October Deep Dive Workshop: Trust & Follow Your Intuition – Trust is the #1 characteristic of God’s Teachers according to A Course in Miracles, and after 26 years counseling spiritual students, I’d say it’s also the #1 issue we have. LATEST PODCAST EPISODE:  What Is Evil? In this episode of A Course in Miracles: Walking the Talk, Living the Love, I explore a word we’ve all heard a million times. It can be tempting to label people evil for what they do. What does that even mean? A stranger attacked me online over a simple question about my dog. Instead of arguing, I got curious, and that led me right back to A Course in Miracles. So how does ACIM define evil? Along the way, I look at what the teaching says about evil, and why the word is so easy to reach for. The answer may surprise you.
