First, I have to say that part of my learning has been that I now feel safe most of the time. For instance, the squirrel in this photo came over to me in Hyde Park. It started to climb up my leg, all the way up to my purse and then was looking in there for a snack, or maybe some money to buy a snack. And while it was definitely alarming, to some degree, I felt safe. It was fun! I was laughing and squealing. I could have felt attacked, but I felt that I was just an object of curiosity. It actually felt delightful! That’s because I’ve learned to turn my pain into my power, through taking responsibility.
Responsibility is the key to liberation. However, you will not believe it nor perceive it unless you’re willing to take responsibility. The key to liberation is only visible to those who “have the eyes to see.” Willingness to take responsibility is the key to clarity.
I used to wait for others to forgive first. I could hold a grudge forever! Finally, I decided to stop waiting to see what anyone else would do. I decided to go first in Love every time. I decided to look for those opportunities to go first. That decision changed my life and my relationships.
I gave up having ANY attachment to what others did in response. No expectations. I decided to stop giving to get and began to give from the overflow and that opened in my heart. God’s Love poured through me into all my relationships and made them whole.
You really can give up dragging the past with you and let LOVE renew you. I’ve been amazed at the healing I’ve had through my daily willingness to turn my pain into my power.
If you’re not feeling the Love it’s only because you’re not willing to BE the Love. You can choose to BE Loving and your whole experience HAS to change. Prove it!
