A Course in Miracles, in the Fear in Conflict section, says:
“All thinking produces form at some level.”
Thoughts are form. And they produce form.
Our emotions of irritation, frustration, agitation, upset, sadness, hurt, depression, all of these feelings are the form that our thoughts and beliefs take.
If we don’t do the housecleaning on a mental level, it comes into our emotional body. If we don’t do the cleaning in the emotional body, it trickles down further. In a sense, it trickles out into our body and into our world.
Our emotions are very, very helpful. They’re a guidance system.
I call them the Divine Alarm Clock going off, warning us it’s time for us to heal our mind.
When we don’t recognize them this way, the temptation is to either dampen them with smoking, drinking, eating, exercising, or to talk about them endlessly to try to release them.
Actually, the fastest path to healing is to examine the thoughts that are producing the form.
If we don’t do that, the energy keeps moving. It travels into our physical body. We feel physical tension. Physical frustration. Sadness affects our physical energy and our being.
This is why ACIM tells us:
“All healing is at the level of the mind.”
The body isn’t where the healing has to happen. The body is where the unhealed thoughts have shown up because we weren’t paying attention upstream.
Here’s what I’ve learned from my own experience: the beliefs we have are mostly what we’re here to heal in this lifetime. Our beliefs are the meaning we’ve made of things. They’re decisions we’ve made about ourselves and life.
They’re not the truth.
They’re the system of thinking we’ve built. They’re our ego attachments. They’re our ego identification.
And they can be released. One thought at a time. One willingness at a time.
This is the work we walk into together in my Masterful Living Program, where we practice healing our mind day by day in community. And if you’d like a taste of this kind of work right now, please join my FREE Forgiveness Workshop on Saturday, May 9.
Spirit is now. The healing is now.
THIS SATURDAY: If you’ve got some grievances you’d like to lay down before Mother’s Day, please join my FREE Forgiveness Workshop on Saturday, May 9. We’ll work it out together.
New PODCAST EPISODE: You’re Not a Victim What if life isn’t happening to me at all? This week I’m sitting with one of the most foundational sections of A Course in Miracles — Chapter 27, Section 7 — and walking us into a teaching that took me a few years of real willingness to fully accept. Why does almost every problem feel like something the world is doing to us? What’s the difference between responsibility and blame that most of us have never been taught? And what was the one tiny shift that helped me realize I’d never actually been a victim at all? This is part one of a two-episode arc. Listen with me on Episode 737.
