Today, as I prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving – and also my birthday – I am grateful for so much. Most of all I am grateful for my awareness of Love’s presence in my life and in my heart. I am so very grateful for everyone who shows up to help me recognize love more fully. I am grateful that every moment of my life I feel so blessed. I’m grateful that the hardships I brought upon myself have almost entirely disappeared from my experience. I’m so grateful that I have the ability to learn, grow and change my thinking!!
Spiritual teacher, Emma Curtis Hopkins, in her book, Scientific Christian Mental Practice, wrote, “We must have a grateful feeling towards everybody and everything. Give thanks to the universe, to your ancestors, to your neighbors, to yourself, to animals, to everything that you have dealings with. Its spirit is your good, loving provider.”
Today I look around my life to see what has felt wrong to me in the past. I am grateful for the ways in which that very thing is a blessing to me and answering my prayer. In faith, I know the evidence of the blessing is revealing itself to me and I am grateful. In this way I make gratitude part of my daily spiritual practice. My spiritual practice allows me to be more loving and to open to experience and share even more of the good!
