I’m in New Jersey, celebrating Christmas with my family at my brother’s home.  We enjoy being together so much.  It’s a real treat to do even the simplest things like go for a walk, decorate the tree, and tell stories.  In the simple things we can feel our Love for each other.

On December 25th, Christmas Day, we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the great avatar who incarnated on earth to demonstrate our Christ nature.

Millions of people around the world celebrate the birth of this humble man who travelled the earth blessing everyone he ever came in contact with.  He is the great example.

I am profoundly grateful for the life and teachings of Jesus.  I wasn’t raised in any religion, and I’ve never considered myself a Christian, but I Love the teachings of Jesus and consider him my teacher.

Did you know that Gandhi was greatly influenced by Jesus’ sermon on the mount?  

On this day, in addition to everything else we’re grateful for, let’s truly be grateful for the master teacher who taught us so much and continues to teach us.  

Here are some of Jesus’ teachings for us from A Course in Miracles:

“The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness.  See it not outside yourself, but shining in the Heaven within, and accept it as the sign the time of Christ has come.  He comes demanding nothing.  No sacrifice of any kind, of anyone, is asked by Him.  In His Presence the whole idea of sacrifice loses all meaning.”  T-15.XI.2.

“This Christmas give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt you.  Let yourself be healed completely that you may join with Him in healing, and let us celebrate our release together by releasing everyone with us.”  T-15.XI.3.

Let us follow Jesus’ invitation and see the Christ in ourselves.

Let us give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt us so it can be permanently dissolved.

Let’s open ourselves completely to the awareness of the Christ within – and let’s do it today, our gift to Jesus.

As I celebrate the Love that we share with my family, I hold you in my heart and I give thanks for our connection.  Our prayer partnership is precious to me and I am grateful that we have the opportunity to pray together every day.
