Friday night and yesterday morning I was at Stonehenge for the summer solstice sunset and sunrise. I hadn’t ever wanted to be there for the sunrise on the solstice or even the equinox because I had read about and seen pictures of the kind of scene it can be and I really prefer Stonehenge when it is most completely still.

I remember one sunrise last year when I had a special access pass to the inner circle. As usual, people were taking pictures of the stones and themselves in funny positions posing by the stones. Especially when it’s colder, rainy, and windy, even though people have a one hour access pass, after about 40 minutes they’re ready to go back to bed or to get breakfast or just go back inside and get warm. This particular morning, with about 10 minutes left to the special access everybody left. The guard was outside the circle and I was standing in the center, praying. The very moment that the last other person left, I literally felt the entire circle of stones heave a great sigh of relief. it was such a moment of connection.

Remembering that and moment and also out of my deep love and respect for this sacred temple and the landscape that surrounds it – I decided to go to the solstice festivities in order to pray, meditate and be a loving presence.

There were moments, all throughout the evening and morning (I went home and had a nap from midnight to 3am) a drunken party that seemed like a siege, carried on and on. I could never have imagined it. Seeing people climbing all over the stones, dancing on them, throwing up beside them. It seems that about a third of the people were smoking their own rolled cigarettes and putting them out all over the grass. The amount of litter left behind was staggering.

It seemed as though a great number of the people, many of whom were drinking or drunk, were very fond of profanity and the F word was freely used even though children were everywhere. My lungs didn’t appreciate the second hand smoke that seemed to be inescapable even though we were outside!

There were moments when I started to feel emotional and weepy, feeling that the sacred space was being desecrated, but then I would go back into prayer and realize – at least they’re here. At least they seem to be able to receive some kind of healing from the experience. I took my position on the ley lines and made prayers – broadcasting around the world. There was no need for judgement, only prayers.

Looking at the photos when I got home, I was AMAZED at how many orbs were captured in the photos. In this particular photo I’m using today you can see SO clearly one orb and there are many more there that you might notice. I rare to see an orb with SUCH clarity captured in a photo. The temple was filled with and surrounded by light beings from all dimensions! Of course it was!

What I continuously learn is that every moment is an opportunity to deepen my spiritual practice and be the loving presence that I came here to be. Despite appearances, all is well. In every moment, my willingness to be loving is really ALL that matters.
