The other day I noticed my cat, Sattva, was fussing with something in one of the windows in my house. I went to see what he was doing. There was a dragonfly caught between the top window and the bottom window. It was bent and clearly uncomfortable.
I so respect dragonflies and see them as a messenger of transformation and change. I certainly do feel like a deep transformation is occurring within me.
I did my best to help the dragonfly and at least got it straightened out.
I didn’t see how I could help it, so I prayed and asked the angels to help. I kept an eye on it through the day and went to bed that night holding that it would find a way to work itself out with the angels assistance.
In the morning, the dragonfly was in a much better position. I check in with Spirit and got the okay to reach in and see if I could gently lift him out from between the windows. It helped me by latching onto my finger and then I was able to carry it outside.
It was a gorgeous sunny morning here in the sacred valley and I thought it would immediately fly away now that it was free, but it clung to my finger. After a while I placed it gently onto the bush by the front step, as you see in the picture today.
After a while it did fly away! Yay! I felt so grateful. Bodhi and Sattva seemed not to notice.
I get strange visitors sometimes in this house – hummingbirds, finches, and now a dragonfly.
I’ve learned that with the angels assistance I can pick them up and set them free.
I don’t pray to the angels, but I do ask them for assistance in the same way that I would ask any friend to help me. Especially since angels are always standing by ready to help.
The thing that’s important to remember is that we don’t ask for specific help to get the result we think is best, but instead to just ask for help and know that it will be delivered in the highest and best way. I defer to their insight and wisdom and their desire to help.
Angels cannot help unless we ask – so please, ask and give those unemployed angels an opportunity to assist. And then don’t forget to thank them when they come through.
