The full moon starts tonite at 11pm Eastern. Astrologically, it’s a big deal moon – we’ve got a lunar eclipse, blood moon, harvest moon and a SUPER moon, (when the full moon is particularly close to the earth and so it seems to be larger) all rolled into one! Because it’s a super full moon, you’ll notice today when the moons is rising on the horizon that it seems enormous. AND if you’re in North America you’ll probably be able to see the lunar eclipse at sunset. Cool!
I thought I’d share with you a really simple and, for me, powerful and ceremony for expansion, intention and release. You can do on your own or with friends. It’s the perfect time to do a full moon Expanding Awareness Ceremony.
Full moon is all about releasing what is no longer desired and what no longer serves. To me, it’s about purification. It’s about celebrating that I can let go of the burdens, the negative patterns and suffering of the past. Release all worries and carries – all belief in lack and attack!
Full moon is also about Harvest. AND since this is a harvest moon, it’s a particularly auspicious time to harvest the learning from your experiences. This requires your willingness and your attention – it’s so worth it! Harvest the learning now and you don’t have to repeat the lesson. Nice, huh?
Now, add to everything I’ve shared about this moon, the fact that this is also a time of great light pouring into our awareness. Here’s a great share from Patricia Cota-Robles:

Light a white candle
Have a glass of water beside you.
You can consecrate your space with offerings of smudge and prayer.
I appreciate starting with prayer and setting of intention.
I intend to release what doesn’t serve me.
It’s powerful to journal and write out what no longer serves and is being released. If you have friends with you, you may wish to share what you’ve written specifically or generally.
Journal about what you’ve learned since the last full moon. Many people don’t bother to take stock and so they end up repeating the same lessons over and over again. Is there anything left for you to forgive? Any judgments you’ve been clinging to? Release them now! Lighten your load! Expansion awaits you!
It’s nice to have a fire to place the offerings of what you’ve written in – a fire puja is always lovely – offering prayers to the fire as well as any writing – release it all! You can do that in a backyard fire pit, fireplace or a burning bowl.
Open your heart to what you’d like to call into your life. Set your intention for expansion and clarity, purity and joy!
More prayer, chanting, dancing, having a meal – these are all wonderful. Dance to celebrate your willingness to have a healing!
Drink that glass of water! Water has the ability to hold memory, so it contains all the healing energy of your prayers!
