Is it possible for me to want something that I have? For instance, if I have a handful of diamonds, is it possible for me to want to have some diamonds? I don’t think so. What I’ve learned is that if I want to have peace then I must be under the illusion that I don’t have it, that it’s somewhere out there and I must now go and find it in order to have it. Wanting is not having. The mind that wants is literally pouring energy into further establishing the thought that it doesn’t have.
Energy flows where our attention goes – if I’m energizing wanting, and not having peace, love, joy, and abundance, will I ever be willing to discover that I already have these qualities as part of my Divine Nature? Haven’t we been seeking outside of ourselves and not finding for long enough? Do we need to spin and toil another minute to learn what we already have proven a million times over?
Our little willingness is all that is required. Become willing to release the word WANT from your vocabulary. Recognize that you already have. IF you think you don’t have it, then you’re either not yet willing to express it or you’ve forgotten where to look, and that’s where you begin. Release the endless wanting of the ego. The ego will NEVER be satisfied. Trying to satisfy the ego is like trying to give a hungry baby a meal that will fill its belly for eternity. There is no such meal – the body is born to want.
This practice is challenging and that’s good! This practice opens us to discover a Divine desire, devotion and discipline. How wonderful! This practice moves into intention and aspiration. Instead of saying – I want to know peace – how about – I intend to know peace!
Forgive the mistakes of the past. Apologize to yourself for taking so long to wake up. All that matters is THIS day has come. We awaken from the dream of separation and realize the Spirit is born in us and the Spirit already has. Be willing to have and be fulfilled! Your destiny is at hand!
