Spirit/Love/God, is infinite Creativity. In fact, Creativity is one of the spiritual qualities that makes up God’s infinite nature, and therefore also our nature.
Some years ago I went to Santorini, Greece for vacation with my BFF, Gina who just went on the Camino trip with us. It was a true vacation so I did very little work, mostly just writing the Daily Shot of Spiritual Espresso and the Prayer for Today.
By the end of the week, I was SO ready to get back to being creative and back to work.
I have this creativity that just doesn’t quit.
Right before Christmas I was at Lisa Natoli and Bill Free’s house for a couple of days and we were talking about various things and I brought up this property I’d seen with a cabin on it and I was suggesting (not very seriously) that we could buy the property, and fix up the cabin. There’s hardly a place I go that I don’t see a way to start a creative project, launch a new business, create something wonderful for community. It feels non-stop for me.
Part of why I love the New Year is that I move into my creative mind full on and it’s play time for what I’d like to bring forth with my heart and mind in the coming year. For a lot of us, doing this new year aspiration, intention, goal setting is work that takes courage.
Many spiritual students have been very discouraged over the years when things didn’t go the way they imagined. Yet, I’ve seen year after year in our Masterful Living community that folks are bringing forth miracles for themselves and those closest to them. That’s because when we’re doing our goal setting work to BE the Light of the world – rather than to accomplish things in the world in order to feel better about themselves, there’s a quickening that’s palpable.
There’s nothing wrong – at all – about having goals in the world. I’ve got dozens of them at any given moment. However, my goals aren’t “I’d like to win an Oscar, sell a million books, or have the perfect body so that I will be someone special in this world and my life will be validated.
I’m interested in BEING loving, BEING the Light, BEING the Peace, and that’s what drives me. I love being my true Self and motivated by Love.
At this time of year, which, no coincidence, comes right after all of the focus on Christ, there’s such a palpable high energy to BE the best we can be. It requires willingness, and sometimes courage, to follow through.
I love doing this creative work together.
It’s so much fun. I started doing New Year’s programs a long time ago because it’s so much fun, and because if we don’t do it with others we may not do it at all.
People are often unwilling to articulate goals, because if they don’t manifest they feel like a loser, but that’s got nothing to do with Spirit. In Spirit, everything is helpful. That’s where we can live. That’s how we find the courage to move forward. And to have some FUN!
Now is the time to anchor into a year of healing miracles. We can lay the groundwork, and set the trajectory. Of course you don’t need my help, but it’s exciting and fun when we do it together! Come join me this Saturday when we begin my New Year Reboot! Let’s have some FUN!
