One of the things we’ve discussed in our Masterful Living classes is how so many spiritual students will approach their entire spiritual journey as though they are trying to become more holy. They’re trying to eliminate their sinfulness.
I certainly felt that something I was working on for years.
The only problem is that we’re not sinners. None of us are.
No matter what we’ve done, or not done that ego pretends is a sin, we’re still not sinners.
It’s hard to believe in our innocence when lifetime after lifetime we’ve been indoctrinated as sinners.
A Course in Miracles tells us that one of the most chaos inducing beliefs we can have is the one that has us believe that we’re sinners, but we’re not.
When we can see with Divine Vision we’ll see that there is no sin.
There is no stain on our permanent record.
And, there’s no stain on ANYONE’S permanent record.
There’s no punishment from God.
Love’s nature is always kindness and compassion.
What Love does is it calls us correct.
Love offers correction.
Another way to say it is that we experience our karma – which isn’t a punishment, ever. God does not punish. It’s so helpful for us to truly remember that.
Karma is neither punishment nor reward.
Karma is, in many respects, a teaching.
When we make loving choices we learn through loving results and experiences.
When we make unloving choices we learn through pain.
Let us change our mind about punishment. Let’s release any idea that someone should be punished for any reason whatsoever. Instead, let us call for their mind to be corrected.
While Spirit doesn’t punish, ego thoughts often feel like a punishment.
Let’s put punishment behind us and choose Divine Vision instead. This is our choice on the path of growth to spiritual maturity.
Sometimes we stumble and fall, but if we’re knocked down, we get up again. And again. And again and again and we don’t ever stop getting up.
With so much intensity in the world, I find it helpful to remember there’s no punishment.
I remind myself that nothing real can be threatened.
May truth be revealed and Love prevail. Always.
