For me, one of the things I am most grateful for is that God is unchanging. Constancy is a spiritual quality. Knowing this helps me to identify opinions and judgments which are always changing. Why build our home on the sinking sands of ever-changing opinions when we can build it on the solid rock of putting God first in our lives.
People love that saying “times change” and at the crux of it, opinions are what change. We have new preferences, new opinions, new outlooks. And yet the spiritual nature of the universe is unchanging. Love is all there is and we’re waking up to remember that simple truth.
If you’re REALLY interested in the Truth that sets you free, then you must relinquish the opinions and judgments. That’s something I’ve learned. How to identify the opinions? They change. God doesn’t change. Love doesn’t change. Love isn’t something that we fall in and out of. It is, as Shakespeare so beautifully wrote “an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken.”
In the photo with today blog I’m on vacation in Martinique. This was back in 1984 or something like that. Back then I weighted about 30 pounds less and I still felt I was overweight. I love and appreciate my body more now than I did then. I’m so much happier. I feel completely different. I wouldn’t trade what I have now in order to go back or to change a thing.
I’ve learned from all of my errors – one way or another. I’ve learned that I prefer to learn from choosing Love and from the joy of living with fewer and fewer opinions.
Love lasts. Love is real and tangible and will outlast every opinion.
If it changes, it isn’t Love.
How wonderful to know this simple fact.
Why become attached to things that change?
Let’s release all attachments and become steadfast for Love which is ever-constant.
I feel that as we prepare for this new year of personal healing that’s unfolding for all of us, self-love and self-healing is going to pull our entire focus and I welcome it. Love is our healer. I look forward to a year focused on Love! Victory is at hand!
