A Course in Miracles teaches us that if we’d like to have any kind of good in this world, we have to be willing to offer it to others.  It says, “to have, give all to all.”

So, I ask myself, “Jennifer, do you give all to all?  Do you give Freedom to all?    Is there anyone you’re imprisoning with your thoughts?  Do you offer compassion to all?  Do you have any Love for the people you dislike?”

One of the most emotionally painful things any of us experience is when we’re hurt, angry, disappointed or fearful in relationship to other people.  It can feel so awful to feel like a failure at relationship.  Over the past nearly 25 years of being a spiritual counselor, I’ve seen that this is the biggest challenge the majority of people face and it looks like this:

The adult child who’s so angry with their parent.

The parent who’s so hurt by their child who seems to hate them.

The person who’s deeply fearful about a loved one who appears to be ruining their life.

The one who’s disrespected and abused by their partner and yet can’t step away.

The person who feels unworthy of Love, goodness, kindness, and experiences constant rejection.

The one who’s trying to control and manipulate those around them “for their own good,” and still doesn’t feel loved.

These patterns are confounding and extremely limiting to our lives and the ruination of happiness.  I feel like I’ve had an unhealthy dose of most of those mental and emotional patterns and I learned so much about how to stop perpetuating them and how to set ourselves, and everyone else free.

Through my own intensely difficult and painful experiences, and through holding the hand of countless people walking this path of healing, I’ve been amazed at how these super challenging patterns can be healed relatively quickly.  We can make huge leaps in a day, a month, 6 months, and we can be free of these patterns in a few years or less.

For someone who has struggled for decades, maybe even 50 or 60 or even 70 years with these kinds of patterns to finally find freedom, relief and release, it’s really worth putting the pedal to the metal to clear these things out and stop the excruciating and despair inducing experience of continuing to repeat and strengthen these beliefs and patterns.

The thing that all the healing hinges on is the full realization that we are 100% responsible for what we think and belief.   No blame, but total responsibility.

The really incredibly good news is that because we ARE the responsible ones, we can set ourselves 100% free of the past and the pain.  We really can.  It just requires a dedicated willingness – and that’s what I love to support people in cultivating so they don’t ever give up – so they continue to have success after success and win after win and they build the momentum and inspiration to keep going and never give up.

A Course in Miracles begins with, “seek not to change the world, but to change your mind about the world.”  And yet, if we look deeply, can we see that just today we’ve already been thinking about how to change the world to suit us better?  Probably.

Can we recognize that we’re actively contemplating how to fix the people around us?

Do we own, right now, in this minute, that we think if the world were different, if our friends, family, co-workers, political situation, finances, or body were “better” that we’d be happier?

This thinking is, according to ACIM, delusional – and I’ve helped myself finally see that’s a huge waste of our energy, time, attention and money.

The fastest path to healing is through changing our thinking.

And that takes real dedication – and even the people who feel the weakest among us can have miraculous success, because the Higher Holy Spirit Self knows no limitations and no lack..

Liberation, Freedom, Joy, Peace, Prosperity, and so much more are all available to us when we’re willing to dedicate ourselves to healing the mind of false beliefs.

The only people I’ve worked with who weren’t successful were the people who weren’t willing to do the inner personal work that was laid out for them to do.

Sometimes it feels hard.

Sometimes we resist.

Believe me, I know.

But on this 4th of July, the day we celebrate independence from tyranny (however tenuous it seems this week), let’s make a commitment to find Freedom in the mind where it’s always been and get out from the tyranny of misery that is the agreement to littleness, to lack, to limitation, to unworthiness and self-attack.

All racism, sexism, all poverty and pain is the result of a belief in lack and a self-hatred projected outwards.

Let’s stop trying to make the world different to suit what we think will make us happy.  A Course in Miracles is clear:  “you do not know what will make you happy, so stop thinking that you do.”

Let’s stop rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, thinking that will somehow right the ship.  Let’s stop trying to lose weight, make more money, get our children to stop doing drugs, or any other thing to try to make us happy.  Instead, let’s be willing to, as Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called it, “be co-workers with God.”

Let’s cultivate an extraordinary willingness to stop thinking that we know what is right, and wrong, and that we know what everything is for and let’s work for, not fight, but really be willing to experience the Freedom and Joy of our natural state.

These are our original instructions.  This is our mandate from heaven.  This IS what heals the world.

In truth, we’re already free.  We are created free.  The lack of Freedom experience is self-imposed, and we can turn the tide, stop drowning, and get carried to shore.  We really can, but we have to commit to changing our thinking.

Freedom begins now, today is our Freedom day!

As John and Yoko said, “war is over if you want it.”  We can’t fight for Peace, so let’s choose to let go of the blocks and allow Freedom to reign in our hearts.

LATEST ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is Good VS Bad: How Do You Know Which Is Which?. In this episode, I unpack how “good” and “bad” are illusions maintained by judgment—something A Course in Miraclestells us we are incapable of making because we cannot see through all directions of time and space. I share personal stories, insights from the Manual for Teachers, and practical wisdom for living more peacefully by surrendering the ego’s constant labeling and instead choosing neutrality, trust, and humility. When we stop judging, we stop suffering—and we open ourselves to healing, joy, and true spiritual freedom.
