Have you ever noticed how strongly we hold onto our judgments? Like they’re precious treasures we can’t let go of?

I’ve got news for you – there’s really no difference between an opinion and a judgment. You know those little chili pepper symbols on the menu at Asian restaurants that indicate how spicy they are? One pepper = mild, five peppers = watch out!  I like to say a judgment is just an opinion with more chili peppers!

We dress up our opinions as “discernment” or “wisdom,” but let’s be honest – they’re just judgments in fancy clothes.

And here’s the thing for us to know: According to A Course in Miracles, judgment is what maintains the world of illusions. It’s literally what keeps us stuck in the ego’s game of separation and suffering.

Think about it. How much energy do you spend every day judging things? Sorting, condemning, separating.

“This is good, that’s bad, she’s wrong, he’s right, I should have, they shouldn’t have… “

It’s exhausting! And for what? To maintain an illusion that we know better than Spirit what should be happening?

ACIM tells us that judgment is confused with wisdom and substitutes for truth.

Ouch! All this time we thought we were being wise by having strong opinions, but we were actually blocking the real wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit.

Here’s what I’ve discovered in my years of teaching Masterful Living: When we let go of judgment, something miraculous happens. There’s nothing left to forgive! If we don’t judge in the first place, what’s left to forgive?

This way makes life SO much easier.  Try it.  You might like it.

Instead of adding chili peppers to everything, what if we just… didn’t? What if we looked at each situation, each person, each moment with fresh eyes, without the burden of our opinions weighing us down?

The Holy Spirit has only one judgment, and it’s this:
God’s Son is guiltless and sin does not exist.
That’s it. No chili peppers needed.

Today, notice how many chili peppers you’re adding to your opinions. Are you turning a simple preference into a five-alarm judgment? Remember, every judgment you make is just keeping you trapped in the delusion of the illusion.

Freedom comes when we trade our chili peppers for Peace.  Peace is worth EVERYTHING, judgments are worth nothing.

This holy pronouncement – “God’s Son is guiltless” – is the foundation of everything I teach in my Quantum Counseling Training Intensive . Beginning October 31st, this transformative 8-day program (3 hours a day over the course of 8 days) will not only help you live this truth but teach you to help others recognize their own guiltlessness. LATEST ACIM PODCAST EPISODE:  Why You Can’t Let Go (And How to Finally Break Free).  In this episode, I share why so many of us spiritual students are getting caught up in anger and resentment about world events, and how it’s dragging us into depression and despair. I dive deep into ACIM Lesson 122, “Forgiveness offers everything I want,” revealing how every single unpleasant thing in our lives stems from holding grievances. Through my recent breakthrough with family resentments, I discovered that holding grudges is really about punishing ourselves – and I’m simply not interested in that anymore.
