Many think they’re suffering from low self-esteem. They seek to gain self-confidence in order to feel better about themselves. It would be helpful if they could ask: What is the “self” that I am seeking to place confidence in?
Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, wrote a book that’s one of my all time favorites: Peace Is Every Step. In there he writes, “The mind of love brings peace, joy, and happiness to ourselves and others. If love is in our heart, every thought, word, and deed can bring about a miracle.”
I’ve learned that the fastest path to true self-esteem and confidence has been to recognize that I AM One with the One.
I AM part of that stream of Divine Love Intelligence that is already perfect, whole and complete. That is the origin of my self-esteem and confidence.
The nature of the lack of self-confidence comes from choosing to energize thoughts of separation from the Oneness. These are the thoughts of judgment, whether they are directed towards ourselves or others. Any lack of feeling good about ourselves comes from being unwilling to place our trust in the Divine. If we don’t trust God, we’ll never feel good about ourselves.
If we don’t Love our Higher Holy Spirit Self and seek to know it AS ourselves, we’ll never know our true identity and we’ll always suffer from lack of self-esteem. That pain will never end.
But it will end, because eventually we’ll remember to trust. We’ll remember our true identity. We’ll find Freedom in our heart and mind once again.
True self-confidence and self-esteem cannot come from the size of our paycheck, the beauty of our features, or anything else in this world. When we place our trust and confidence in God, in our God Self, then it’s possible to remember our true identity. Placing our trust in the Divine rather than our little self, we discover that we of our little ego self can do nothing worth doing. ALL self-worth comes from discovering this and remembering that we already are the I AM that I AM.
When we remember your Divinity and the Divinity of all life then you can see and know and feel that ALL is worthy. When we’re willing to know that ALL are worthy then we’ll absolutely know that all are worthy too, and that’s a wonderful feeling. It’s powerfully positive because it’s true. It’s Real.
I AM willing to know that all are worthy.
I place my trust in the Divine and remember that I AM worthy of God’s Love.

NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is How to Win the War With Ego – Finding the Path of True Peace. In this episode of A Course in Miracles podcast, I talk about that war of self-attack, self-sabotage, self-medication, guilt, blame, shame, and generally feeling like a failure is escapable. It can be undone easier than we think. The war is not a real thing. It’s an illusion. Because the ego isn’t a real thing. It’s an illusion. So, there can be no war. I share some of the key steps in my journey to a lasting sense of Peace so that you can find your way there too! The ego has no power – GOD has ALL the power.
