Let me share with you the only judgment that matters, the only pronouncement that’s real, the only verdict that the Holy Spirit ever makes: God’s Son is guiltless and sin does not exist.
That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Everything else? It’s just ego noise.
But oh my goodness, when this truth really lands in your heart, it changes EVERYTHING. Because if God’s Son (that’s you, that’s me, that’s everyone) is guiltless, then all our judging is pointless. If sin doesn’t exist, then what exactly are we condemning each other for?
I remember when this first really clicked for me. I was in the middle of judging someone (probably for the thousandth time that day), when suddenly I heard the Holy Spirit whisper: “God’s Son is guiltless.” And I realized – if they’re guiltless, then my judgment is insane. I’m literally making up stories about guilt and sin that doesn’t exist!
This is why A Course in Miracles tells us we cannot judge. It’s not that we shouldn’t judge (although we shouldn’t). It’s that we literally CANNOT judge accurately because we’re trying to find guilt where none exists. It’s like trying to find darkness in a room full of light. Impossible!
Think about how much time and energy we spend on this impossible task. We judge ourselves: “I should be further along in my spiritual journey. I should be more loving. I should have my life together by now.”
We judge others: “They should know better. They should be different. They should treat me better.”
We judge the world: “It should be more peaceful. It should be more fair. It should be more loving.”
But if God’s Son is guiltless – really, truly guiltless – then all of this judging is just the ego’s attempt to make guilt real. To make separation real. To make the impossible possible.
Here’s what I’ve learned through years of practicing and teaching these principles in my Masterful Living Program and training our Quantum Counselors: Every time I’m tempted to judge, I can choose the Holy Spirit’s pronouncement instead. Someone cuts me off in traffic? God’s Son is guiltless. My friend disappoints me? God’s Son is guiltless. I make a mistake? God’s Son is guiltless.
This isn’t spiritual bypassing. This isn’t pretending that actions don’t have consequences or that we don’t need boundaries. It’s recognizing the deeper truth beneath all the drama – that at our core, in our true essence, we remain as God created us. Guiltless. Innocent. Whole.
BOTTOM LINE: When we embrace the truth beneath all the drama, ALL of the drama will fade away. The drama is the direct result of rejecting the truth. Get it?
And when we really get this, when it moves from our head to our heart, forgiveness becomes automatic.
How can you not forgive what never really happened?
How can you hold a grudge against innocence?
How can you condemn what God has pronounced guiltless?
This is why giving up judgment is the fast track to peace. Because when you stop trying to find guilt where none exists, when you stop trying to make the unreal real, you naturally return to Love. You naturally return to peace. You naturally return to joy. Because it’s your natural state.
And this is what the Quantum Counselors are trained to see, to know, to never forget and always remember because this IS the healing of their consciousness and of their client.
The Holy Spirit isn’t asking us to judge differently or judge better. The Holy Spirit is showing us that judgment itself is the problem. That trying to determine good and bad, right and wrong, guilty and innocent is what keeps us trapped in the illusion. It’s the labeling, sorting and separating that keeps us from Love itself.
Today, let’s practice valuing the truth. When we’re tempted to judge anyone or anything, let’s remember: God’s Son is guiltless and sin does not exist. Let’s say it until we feel it. Let’s say it until we believe it. Say it until it becomes more real to us than any judgment could ever be.
Because this is the truth that sets us free.
