On page 28 of A Course in Miracles, Jesus tells us our purpose. This is the Truly Helpful Prayer, and I bring it up all the time because it’s the foundation of everything:

“I am here only to be truly helpful. I am here to represent Him who sent me. I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because He who sent me will direct me. I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing He goes there with me. I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.”

What could be more helpful than to see Peace instead of war?

Our work is to really look at all the ways we prefer to see war, and we choose to see war. Let’s start with our relationship with ourselves. How do we talk to ourselves?

When we say, “Oh, that was so stupid. I can’t believe I did that” – let’s just say that’s not acceptable anymore. I’m not allowing myself to speak that way to myself anymore. I’m not allowing it.

One of the things I’ve learned is to correct myself. If I use my words in a way that doesn’t feel good, I notice it immediately. Then I can correct it. I speak something and think, “Oh, that doesn’t feel right.” I correct it.

I’m not interested in investing my attention in judgment anymore.

Sometimes I’ll speak a judgment and I’ll say, “Oh, that’s a judgment. I don’t need that.” It’s a mind-training.

The way to peace is to have no judgment.

The way to peace is to release the meaning we’ve made of things.

A Course in Miracles reminds us: “I must have decided wrongly because I am not at peace. I do not feel guilty because the Holy Spirit will undo all the consequences of my wrong decision if I will let Him.”

Could we trust that? Could we trust that the Higher Holy Spirit Self can undo all the consequences of our errors? This is how peace is possible in this world.

If we’ve done something unloving or unkind, we can hand it over. We can choose peace now and call upon the Higher Holy Spirit Self to release all sense of painful consequences. Let us enjoy peace instead.  We have a choice.

Our Change Your Mind About the World program starting Saturday, May 30 is all about learning to see these worldly events correctly – as opportunities for healing rather than reasons for despair.

Let’s roll up our spiritual sleeves together and clear our minds of the insanity!

TOMORROW, SATURDAY:   Change Your Mind About the World – Are you upset by what you see in the world – join with Alan Cohen, James Twyman, Michael Mirdad, Lisa Natoli and me – we’re bringing the darkness to the light together.  Click here for more info.

NEW PODCAST EPISODE:  Not Perfection with Michael Mirdad  PREMIERS TODAY Most of us who love A Course in Miracles have done it: tried to work the lessons harder, study more, finally get forgiveness right. Underneath the effort, there’s often a quiet shame that we’re still not living it well enough. I felt that for years. This week I sat down with Michael Mirdad, and we kept circling something ACIM says about all that striving, something most of us read right past. What if we’ve misunderstood what’s actually being asked of us?
