In my experience, every time there is pain and discomfort of any kind it’s to help me wake up. Pain is a wake up call. A Course in Miracles tells us that “pain is a wrong perspective.” When we’re identified with a small, selfish self – identified with the body, then we’ll experience pain.
I’ve just come through an experience where I had some intense physical pain. I had been sitting in meditation, in cars and on planes a lot and my psoas muscle seized up on me and then my leg and back muscles went along for the ride. At times it was excruciatingly painful. It’s been a journey and I’m at the tail end of the experience now, doing much better, THANK GOD.
What I learned in the last few weeks is that there’s NO question that spiritual practice is the way out of any and all challenges. By turning to spiritual practice, it helped clear my mind so that I could step aside mentally from the searing pain. I was then able to see all the mental and emotional patterns that were coming up to be healed. I was able to receive the gift.
By working my spiritual practice, I was able to work with those patterns in a way that brought healing to my mind and that gave me the opening and clarity in my mind to receive divine guidance about divine right action I could take to help with healing. Everything began to work together in a synergistic way.
It’s not been fun or pleasant. Some learning isn’t.
Is there any learning that you’re avoiding and the pain is intensifying? Are you willing to deepen your spiritual practice in order to move through it and gain insight and guidance? Go for it. It’s SO worth it!
We’re waking up together and I’m so grateful for that! If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful won’t you please share at Facebook and twitter to let others know? Thank you!
