“Who am I to share these teachings?”
“Who am I to offer spiritual guidance?”
“Who am I to think I can help anyone?”
Sound familiar?
I used to ask myself these questions all the time. The voice in my head would say, “Jennifer, who do you think you are? You’re nobody special. You don’t have what it takes.”
But Spirit had a different answer.
“You are borne of the Christ. That’s who you are.”
A Course in Miracles teaches us that God has One Son, and It is the Christ. And we – all of us – are the Son of God. We are the Christ.
That’s not arrogance. That’s truth.
Here’s what helped me understand this: When we start doing spiritual work, when we begin to counsel others or share these teachings, the first order of business is always to clear out this thought pattern of “Who am I?”
Because the ego will use this question to stop us from serving.
It’ll whisper:
- “You’re not qualified”
- “You haven’t healed enough”
- “You’re too messed up”
- “Others are so much further along”
All lies.
The truth is simple: You are borne of the Christ.
That’s who you are. That’s who I am. I AM that I AM.
And that is the answer to every “Who am I?” question.
It takes humility to hold this truth and not be deterred by the ego’s attacks. It takes courage to claim your divine identity while the world tells you you’re not enough.
A Course in Miracles teaches us that anyone who has had even a brief realization of truth becomes a Teacher of God.
Even briefly.
Even for a moment.
If you’ve ever felt connected to something greater than yourself, you’re qualified. If you’ve ever experienced even a glimpse of unconditional love, you’re ready.
You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to be completely healed. You just have to be willing to let the Christ in you serve the Christ in others.
You are borne of the Christ.
Let that truth transform everything.
