“I don’t have what it takes.”
I used to say this to myself constantly.
Looking at other spiritual teachers, other healers, other people who seemed to have their lives together, I’d think: “These things work for other people, but not for me. I’m too messed up. I’m too broken. I’m not spiritual enough.”
Sound familiar?
Here’s what I discovered: This is just another ego trick to keep us playing small.
In Masterful Living we call it “compare and despair.”
The truth is, you’re perfectly designed to represent the One Who sent you.
Let me say that again.
You’re perfectly designed. It’s a divine design. So, of course you’re perfect. You’re already as holy as holy can be.
Not when you get your act together.
Not when you heal all your wounds.
Not when you become more spiritual.
Right now. As you are.
A Course in Miracles tells us:
I am here only to be truly helpful.
This is my ONLY purpose.
You might spend 23 hours a day complaining and only 1 hour being grateful. You might have moments of love mixed with hours of frustration. You’re still perfectly designed to broadcast Love.
Here’s what made a difference for me: I realized that embodying these teachings isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being willing.
Willing for even a nanosecond. Willing for even a moment.
It’s about seeing someone at a bus stop and shifting from “Ugh, what a loser” to “Oh! There’s my brother, and I love him!”
That’s it.
That shift – that tiny shift – is you representing the Christ. That moment of choosing love over judgment is you fulfilling your purpose.
I see so many light workers playing small, thinking they can fail. Thinking they don’t have what it takes.
But here’s the truth: You cannot fail because Spirit cannot fail.
If you’re willing to be guided, you will be guided. If you’re open to being used for Love, you will be used for Love.
And if you mess up? If you fall back into old patterns? If you catch yourself judging or complaining?
Just say: “Oops! I’m choosing again.”
Place your hand on your heart and offer those thoughts to Spirit for healing.
That’s the practice. That’s how we stop playing small.

LATES ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: In this episode, Are You Afraid of the Light? I dive into A Course in Miracles Chapter 13, Section 6 – “Finding the Present” – exploring why we struggle to see people as they are now instead of through the lens of our past experiences with them. I unpack the Course’s teaching that “the past can cast no shadow to darken the present unless you are afraid of the light,” and I get honest about my own edge: the stickiness I feel when someone hurts the people I love. I make an important distinction – you don’t have to give them access to your bank account to practice seeing their Christ nature. I share how intellectual understanding of spiritual teachings isn’t enough; we must actually live and apply them moment by moment. Come to a free forgiveness workshop at PowerofLoveMinistry.net – because when we see our brothers and sisters without their past, we are released too. We’re doing this together.
