In the process of tuning our minds to remember our true Christ nature, it can be so helpful to ask the question, what would Jesus do?
It can be completely life-changing and deeply transformative to ask this question in relationship to how you treat yourself.
What would Jesus say to himself if he spilled the milk?
What would Jesus say to himself if he missed the turn on the freeway?
What would Jesus say to himself if he spilled the coffee on his shirt?
What would Jesus say to himself if he let out a loud fart in the middle of meditation in a crowded temple and people laughed?
Asking these questions is so valuable – it puts you in a relationship with your Higher Holy Spirit Self.
And what if you took it one step further?
In A Course in Miracles, Jesus tells us that he is always with us and we can ask him anything. We can ask his HELP with anything. What if you decided to test this and see if it were true? Would you listen to Jesus if he were talking with you?
In my experience, most people who don’t ask for guidance, but say they’d like receive it, don’t actually desire to have the guidance because they are afraid that they’ll get guidance to do something they don’t wish to do.
Let’s face it, if you really feel like holding onto that grudge, and Jesus, your elder brother, keeps saying, “let it go.” You might tune him out.
If your response to “let the grudge go,” is “but he really hurt me,” then you really prefer your version of it, even if it causes you pain. That’s why they say – holding a grudge is like drinking poison and hoping the other person suffers.
If, you’re asking the question “why can’t I just find a job, fall in Love, pay off these debts, heal this cancer,” and every time Jesus responds with “forgive the grudge, drop the judgment, stop complaining, you’re not a victim,” and you don’t wish to think about that guidance, then you’re going to convince yourself that you’re alone, there’s no guidance and you’re going to keep struggling.
Hey, I don’t make the rules, but I do like to learn from my experiences. I’m getting better at learning the first time. It’s easier, less painful. Repeating the same lessons is really disheartening and completely unnecessary. And, it’s also a habit. Been there, done that, got the poster.
Try this for one day: be willing to live in the experience of Jesus being there with you all the time. Ask him what he’d do, what he’d say, what he’d eat, where he’d park, who he’d call next and any other question that comes up. As a Divine Experiment, try it and see what you learn just how much you are loved.
To have a great relationship with anyone, you have to be willing to listen. Why not ask meaningful questions and listen to the answers, just for one day.
We’re waking up together and I’m so grateful for that! If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful won’t you please share at facebook and twitter to let others know? Thank you!
