It’s been raining here in Vermont 2 days in a row.  That wouldn’t normally be a big deal, but I have a dog now.  And a cat.  And both of them LOVE to go outside, a lot!  When it rains they stay inside.  

Bodhi would be happy to walk in the rain, but I don’t wish to walk in the rain.  

So for 2 days in a row we’ve mostly been inside because it was rainy, and also, at times, windy.  Windy and rainy is not a great walking combo.

So we’ve been playing games inside.  All is well.

Here’s the thing that’s important to understand about these rainy days indoors – in the past, years ago, I would probably have fretted about Bodhi becoming agitated by being cooped up almost all day for 2 days.  I’d be concerned that she’d be unhappy and frustrated and, of course, that would be our experience.

In my Prayer Power class last night I was sharing about how every thought is a prayer, in the sense that every thought we have is held in the mind of God, because that’s what our mind is.  Our mind is the mind of God.  And we’re only subject to our thoughts.  

If I believe that body will be frustrated and upset, I will look to see her demonstrate that.  And, because all minds are joined, she will demonstrate it.  

One of the most helpful things I’ve learned in terms of working with the mind is this:

Don’t prepare for a future experience you do not want.  

Don’t prepare to be disappointed.

Don’t prepare to be treated poorly.

Don’t prepare for people’s problems.

Prepare to receive the good that life has to offer.

Prepare to receive the gifts of God’s Infinite Goodness.

It’s such a simple thing.  It’s the Law of Cause and Effect.

“What we think about we bring about.”

Let’s be masterful at watching our expectations and focus on expecting miracles!

We are entitled to miracles, so let’s allow them to be our focus!
