Many spiritual students and students of A Course in Miracles find themselves wondering if God is really in this world, or even knows what’s happening here. This is pretty common. It can frequently seem as though we’re living in crazy town. And if that’s how it seems, who let the dogs out and where the heck is God?
I’ve had many ACIM students say that God doesn’t know anything about this world or what’s happening in this world. I find that goes along with the conception of God the Father as a being, rather than a field of Infinite Intelligence and being-ness.
We’re part of God. God cannot be God without us. We’re having this human experience. Therefore, God knows about it, because we know about it – none of which makes it Real, as in eternal and everlasting. It’s still an illusion, a projection and a temporary experience.
I really like something I heard Michael Beckwith say 25 years ago that went something like this:
If you’re wondering why God doesn’t do something about all of the difficulties of this world, and all of the unkindnesses and suffering, if God was a person, God would say “that’s why I sent YOU!”
Our life is the Life of God.
Our mind is the Mind of God.
Our hand is the Hand of God.
Let’s always remember the eternal, infinite truth of our being: We are one with our creator! One with each other. And we are called to be the Presence of God in all of our activities and relationships. Let’s BE it!
