The more we do this inner work, the more we recognize something liberating: when we fall off our seat, we can get right back on again. We don’t need to feel ashamed. We don’t need to blame anybody else. We don’t need to go into criticizing and complaining, blaming, shaming, guilting.
We don’t need to do any of that.
We can just be here now and say, “Let’s reboot the moment. Let’s reboot the day. Let’s reboot my life.” It’s all the same, right? This moment, my life – it’s all the same. We can just do a reboot.
Holy Spirit, let’s hit that reboot button.
Back to the basics: Love, kindness, patience, caring.
When we notice we’re feeling agitated or irritated, we can ask ourselves, “What am I judging? What am I complaining about?” Oh yes – I was just complaining about my coworker. That’s why I feel so agitated. Yep, it’s just how it works.
A Course in Miracles Chapter 7 tells us: “The ego’s whole thought system blocks extension and thus blocks your Joy so that you perceive yourself as unfulfilled.”
When we’re listening to the ego thought system, we’re blocking extension. We’re not being of service. We’re not extending the Love that is our true nature.
But we can disengage from that thought system any time we choose.
How? We go to the Higher Holy Spirit Self and say, “Help me now. I’m interested in disengaging from the ego thought system. I’m interested in extending Love, compassion, kindness, caring. I’m interested in being generous from my heart. I’d rather serve the Light than the ego.”
No blame, no shame, no judgment if we’re not doing a great job in this moment. We just evaluate: “Oh, I notice I feel really good today. What choices have I made? I’ve been in prayer. I’ve been in loving service. I sent a text to a friend who’s having surgery.”
We’re being of service to the world. We’re remembering it’s our function to extend from the fullness of God’s Love, to the best of our ability.
