Everything in the world screams at us:
Don’t be yourself. Yourself isn’t good enough.
Your teeth aren’t good enough. Your hair isn’t good enough. Your body isn’t good enough. Your voice isn’t good enough. Your personality isn’t good enough. Whatever you are, whoever you are, it’s not good enough.
The world is constantly screaming: develop a false identity. In that is your salvation.
And yet every single day, wherever we go, Mother Earth is telling us something completely different.
Be yourself.
Be a flower. Be a tree. They’re not adorned. They are themselves. Look how magnificent they are.
Be the sky. Be a mountain. Be a lake.
Be yourself. This is where the Peace is.
The flower doesn’t try to look like the tree. The tree doesn’t try to be the mountain. The mountain doesn’t spend its life apologizing for taking up space. Every one of these teachers in creation is simply being what it is. And the beauty, the magnificence, the Peace, flows out of that being-ness.
Here’s what I’ve found in my own spiritual journey: I used to care so much what other people thought of me. I wanted to meet the image they had of a “spiritual seeker.” I was showing up, giving service, doing all the things that looked good. Not because my heart was in it. But because I wanted to be seen a certain way.
I was feeding the ego. Feeding a false identity. Pretending to seek, but not committing.
Letting that go was so healing for me. It still is. I still discover every day the ways I feel attracted to being a false identity instead of being true to my Self.
Our true Self is already whole. Already Peaceful. Already part of God. We don’t need to add anything. We don’t need to become something we’re not.
The healing is in the remembering of what we already are.
This is the work we do together in community. Shedding the false and remembering the true.
If you’d like to come home to your true Self, I’d like to invite you to our FREE Living A Course in Miracles Program beginning April 30!
We’re SO BLESSED to get to do this! This is what we’re really here for. We’re part of God and we’re doing the sacred work of bringing Love where there’s only been pain.

NEW PODCAST EPISODE: What Is Justice? I thought I knew what justice was. Then I sat with Chapter 19 of the Manual for Teachers, and the word stopped making sense. A Course in Miracles offers a definition of justice that has nothing to do with punishment, fairness, or getting even. What IS it, then? Why does forgiveness depend on it? What’s the one word we use without thinking that may be silently blocking every forgiveness attempt we’ve ever made? Listen with me on Episode 735.
