Our topic today goes right to the heart of some of our deepest pain: forgiving when we’ve been betrayed. Oh my goodness, this was such a difficult thing for me.

The realization of my place in the universe helped me to see things correctly.  Recognizing that I’m one with all. I’m part of God. This is what A Course in Miracles tells us.

And from that understanding, I became willing to see things without the lens of my past.

Pain is a wrong perspective.
Truth is liberating.

Moving out of pain and into a correct perspective – that correct perspective was and is that nothing is being done to me. Everything is being done by me. And I’m one with all. I’m part of a collective.

I decided to stand back and take a new perspective. I decided to expand my awareness to include the possibility that there is no betrayal.

Betrayal is an illusion just like everything else in this world.

What seems like a betrayal is actually an out picturing of our own thoughts and beliefs. And it’s come to help us see those thoughts and beliefs so that we’ll shift and change them by giving them up to the Holy Spirit for healing.

A Course in Miracles gives us that powerful prayer at the end of Chapter 5: “I must have made a wrong decision because I am not at Peace.”

ACIM tells us the Holy Spirit will undo all the consequences of our wrong decisions – if we allow it.

If we allow it.

I started to allow the consequences of all my wrong decisions to be undone. What I began to see was that all the betrayals in the world were but a mirror, a reflection of my own self-betrayal.

The belief of self-betrayal is this: I betrayed myself by edging God out of my mind and aligning with the ego thought system. I felt guilty and bad and wrong and ashamed for that.

I believed I had betrayed God and so I believed I was unworthy of Love.

We can allow the healing.
We can lay the burden down.
Our willingness is ALL that’s required.

In our FREE Forgiveness Workshops, we practice this laying down of burdens together. Join me tomorrow.  Let’s choose the correct perspective. We can do this!

NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE:  I Will Never Forgive – Really?  “I will never forgive.” I’ve been seeing these words everywhere lately – and I understand them. I used to live there. I used to feel attacked by life every single day, and I had to let the steam off constantly or I felt like I’d explode. In this episode, I share the four words from A Course in Miracles Chapter 30 that changed everything for me – and something I discovered about defense that I wish I’d known decades earlier. I also offer a word I prefer to “forgiveness,” because the world’s definition isn’t what we’re actually practicing. If you’ve ever felt justified in your anger, or wondered why letting go feels impossible, or caught yourself pretending you’re fine when you’re not – I made this one for you. We’re doing this together.
