My little kitty, Sattva is now a big boy at 3 years old. I celebrate his birthday on the same day as my Dad, January 11, because that’s about when he was born. I don’t know exactly because he was a rescue.
He’s such a sweet boy and he’s very much his own cat. Meaning, he knows what he likes and doesn’t like. He’s adventurous and cuddly and he likes to play too. I truly adore him. It’s mutual, actually. He loves to rub his face on my face and he jumps up on the kitchen counter all the time to be in range when I’m cooking.
He also loves to go on walks with me and Bodhi. Sattva inevitably jumps out of the bushes at Bodhi at some point on every walk. They’re definitely siblings even though they’re different species.
Sattva sleeps in so many ways that let me know he’s a very happy boy who feels safe in his environment.
And he also likes to snuggle under the covers. I call him Mr. Snuggles because he’s a classic snuggler.
I think he loves his life. He likes to spend a lot of time outdoors, depending on the weather. And he really loves hunting, especially for mice and little critters, although he’s not afraid to take on a squirrel. He’s bold.
Sattva likes to climb on top of doors and cabinets, as well as trees and roofs. He’ll climb up the roof of the first floor so he can look at you from the outside of a window on the second floor and we’ve got paw prints on the skylights.
He’s generous and has brought home all kinds of critters, both living and deceased. He’s a giver. Naturally generous. I’d just prefer he not bring his gifts in the house.
I’ve got a hundred great pix of him. He’s very photogenic. Obviously.
There have been many nights I wondered if I’d see him again with all the predators outside and him not coming home, but I’m anticipating that we’ll have many years ahead.
He’s one of my Mighty Companions and I’m very grateful for his precious life!
